NBA Ikeja Holds Public Lecture on Human Rights in Nigeria

The NBA Ikeja branch commemorated World Human Rights Day with a public lecture discussing pressing human rights issues in Nigeria, including insecurity, mass killings, free speech, gender equality, and police brutality. Prominent legal professionals, civil society advocates, and media representatives participated in the event.

Keynote speaker Commodore (Rtd) Kunle Olawunmi emphasized the judiciary's role in upholding human rights, urging proactive measures to safeguard lives and properties amidst human rights abuses and security challenges in Nigeria. Panelists highlighted gaps in enforcing laws to protect citizens' rights, calling for robust legal reforms aligning with international standards.
