NCC Partners with Sweden's Swedfund to Enhance 5G Network Security in Nigeria

The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has collaborated with Sweden's Swedfund to bolster 5G infrastructure cybersecurity and public trust in Nigeria's digital ecosystem. This partnership seeks to ensure faster speeds, lower latency, and increased capacity for millions of connected devices.

Despite progress in 5G deployment by telecom operators like MTN and Airtel, challenges persist, with a significant gap in 5G device ownership and network coverage across urban and rural areas. Harold Olamilokun, a senior partner at Talentcroft and Rane Interaktiv Medien Limited, foresees advancements in Nigeria's telecommunications sector with the surge in 5G subscriptions.
