NCPC Urges South-east Governors to Support Pilgrimage Access

The Nigerian Christian Pilgrims Commission (NCPC) has called on governors in South-east Nigeria to promote the participation of indigent but deserving Christians in pilgrimages to holy sites. Mrs Nneamaka Opara Gladys, the Southeast zonal coordinator of NCPC, made this appeal during a meeting with officials from the Anambra State Pilgrims Office in Enugu.

She praised the Imo and Enugu state governments for their past support in sponsoring citizens for pilgrimages. Opara highlighted the importance of pilgrimage for individual spiritual upliftment and societal value reorientation.

She urged other governors in the region to provide similar opportunities for less privileged Christians. Additionally, she assured the Anambra pilgrims office of the NCPC's support and guidance.

Mr Odira Ezeh, Senior Special Assistant to Governor Chukwuma Soludo on Pilgrims Affairs, noted the visit aimed to strengthen partnerships for better pilgrimage administration in Anambra. He commended the Soludo administration for revitalizing pilgrimage activities in the state, which had been inactive for some time.
