NDDC Demands Retraction and Apology Over Coup Allegation

The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) has demanded a retraction and apology from Punch and Daily Times newspapers over false and defamatory allegations linking its managing director to a coup plot against President Bola Tinubu's administration. The NDDC's legal representative, Adelek Adedip, warned of civil and criminal proceedings if the demands are not met within seven days.

The NDDC reiterated its commitment to developing the Niger Delta region and upholding transparency in public service. The letter issued by the legal counsel emphasized the need to uphold the highest standards of accountability.
