NDDC Launches Anti-Corruption Unit in Port Harcourt

The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) has inaugurated an anti-corruption and transparency unit at its headquarters in Port Harcourt. The event was led by NDDC Managing Director Dr.
Samuel Ogbuku, who described the initiative as a critical mechanism to promote ethical conduct and prevent corruption, thereby strengthening public confidence in the commission. Ogbuku charged the new members of the anti-corruption unit, including Executive Director of Finance and Administration Boma Iyayi, to uphold the highest standards of integrity.
He noted that corruption is a global challenge and urged the unit to operate independently from corrupt practices. The commission's internal audit department was also encouraged to work closely with the unit to reinforce accountability across all departments.
ICPC Chairman Dr. Musa Adamu Aliyu commended the NDDC for this significant step towards strengthening institutional integrity and promoting transparency in public service.
Mr. Deinma Ebong, the chairperson of the NDDC anti-corruption unit, pledged to build a strong bridge with ICPC to enhance ethical education and prevent corruption.
