NDLEA Arrests Drug Kingpin Reginald Chidieber After 13 Years

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) arrested Reginald Peter Chidieber, a notorious drug kingpin, after 13 years of evading capture. Chidieber was first arrested in 2013 for his involvement in cocaine trafficking and was arraigned before Justice Ayokunle Faji at the Federal High Court in Lagos.

He jumped bail shortly after and disappeared. His name resurfaced in February 2024 when he was identified as the alleged mastermind behind the importation of 49.70 kilograms of heroin from South Africa, which was intercepted at the NDLEA's import shed at Lagos Airport.

Following this, Chidieber was taken into custody on February 13, 2026, after he could no longer sustain his hiding. The NDLEA also seized a large consignment of cocaine and heroin linked to his operations.

His hotel, the Golden Platinum Hotel, was blocked, and bank accounts were traced as part of the investigation.
