NDLEA Alerts Paramilitary Recruits on Free Drug Tests

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has issued a warning to applicants shortlisted for recruitment into four paramilitary agencies, advising them against paying for the mandatory Drug Integrity Test. The NDLEA stated that the Ministry of Interior has already paid for the testing, which has led to reports of some applicants paying N7,500 through the NDLEA drug testing portal.
The agencies involved include the Nigerian Correctional Service, Nigeria Immigration Service, Federal Fire Service, and Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps. Femi Babafemi, the NDLEA’s Director of Media and Advocacy, emphasized that no payment is required from candidates or personnel presenting for the test.
The NDLEA has arranged for the tests to be conducted as part of the recruitment process. The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) announced that its recruitment portal opened on October 28 for shortlisted candidates to check their status and undertake the drug tests, which will remain open until November 13.
