NDPHC Transfers Gbarain Power Plant Rehab to TILT/Schneider

The Niger Delta Power Holding Company (NDPHC) officially handed over the rehabilitation project of the Gbarain power plant to a joint venture comprising TILT Energy Limited and Schneider Electric. This project is significant as it aims to replace the burnt Power Control Module (PCM) that suffered extensive damage from a fire in November 2020, just months before the plant was due to be commissioned.

During the handover ceremony, NDPHC's General Manager of the project, Engr. Ginsau Idri, expressed confidence in the contractor's ability to deliver the project successfully within the scheduled timeline.

NDPHC's Executive Director General, Engr. Abdullahi Kassim, noted that the fire incident was a major setback but commended the management for reviving the project.

The rehabilitation is expected to be completed within 12 months without compromising quality, thereby strengthening electricity supply in line with the federal government's agenda. The project was identified as a priority for quick enhancement of electricity generation.
