Gender Impact Investment Summit Launches GESI Roadmap to Empower Women, Youth, and PwDs

The Gender Impact Investment Summit in Nigeria, organized by Iyke Bede in partnership with Impact Investors Foundation and PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) Nigeria, unveiled a new Gender Equity Social Inclusion (GESI) Roadmap. This ambitious national strategy aims to address economic barriers faced by women, youth, and persons with disabilities (PwDs).

Notably, 40% of women-owned small businesses receive less than 5% of formal credit, while PwDs face a staggering 60% unemployment rate. The goal is to reshape the investment landscape by directing capital towards marginalized groups for inclusive growth.

Highness Muhammadu Sanusi II, Emir of Kano, emphasized the need to dismantle these barriers for sustainable development. The summit highlighted the importance of empowering women and youth for a more inclusive economy.
