Ex-CDS Irabor Warns Against Creating New Security Agencies in Nigeria

Ex-Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) Irabor has cautioned the Nigerian government against relying on the establishment of new security agencies to address the country's insecurity challenges. Irabor highlighted the critical issues within current security agencies, such as intelligence gaps, inadequate manpower, outdated equipment, and poor coordination.

He stressed the importance of thoroughly evaluating the existing agencies' capabilities and addressing their shortcomings before considering the creation of additional security bodies. Irabor criticized the recent establishment of the Forest Guard, citing it as a misguided decision that fails to tackle the root causes of security issues in Nigeria.
