The public outcry prompted spokesperson Akin Rotimi to address transparency concerns in the new tax laws. Lawmaker Abdussamad Dasuki faced backlash over alleged alterations to tax reform laws, leading to calls for suspension.

The incident occurred during the 8th annual roundtable and birth anniversary lecture of late Governor Abiola Ajimobi in Oyo State.
