He mentioned that promises were broken, trust was lost, and the relationship could not continue. Isak thanked his teammates and supporters at Newcastle United but emphasized that he had kept quiet for a long time while others spoke out, allowing a misleading version of events to be pushed.

Isak revealed that he was interested in joining Liverpool, who had submitted a bid that was rejected by Newcastle United. The club was reportedly willing to let Isak leave but only if they could sign at least two strikers to replace him.
