NFF President Confirms Eric Chelle to Remain as Super Eagles Coach for AFCON 2025 Playoffs

The President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Ibrahim Gusau, provided an update on Eric Chelle's future as the head coach of the Super Eagles. Chelle was appointed in January 2025 to help Nigeria qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup in Morocco.

Despite rumors of his potential sacking if Nigeria fails to secure a spot, Gusau confirmed that Chelle has signed a two-year contract and will remain in charge regardless of the playoff results. Chelle, who previously coached Mali and Ivory Coast, aims to lead Nigeria to their first title since 2013.
