Nigeria Golf Federation Seeks Presidential Approval for 2026 President Cup Proposal

The Nigeria Golf Federation (NGF) has submitted a proposal to seek presidential approval for the 2026 President Cup, aiming to introduce the Tomorrow Golf League (TGL) in Africa. NGF President Otunba Olusegun Runsewe disclosed this strategic initiative, which includes proposing the Governor's Golf Classic, Nigerian Open, and Nigerian Classic.

The President Cup, a major fixture in the Nigerian golf calendar, was last held in 2011 when former President Goodluck Jonathan participated at the IBB International Golf and Country Club in Abuja. Runsewe emphasized the importance of promoting the President Cup and acknowledged the role of former Plateau State Governor Senator Simon Lalong in facilitating the process.

NGF is currently awaiting feedback from the presidency following the submission of the proposal.
