NICDO Empowers Women and Youth at Arochukwu Dialogue

On June 22, 2026, NICDO successfully hosted the 'Community Prosperity Dialogue' in Arochukwu, aimed at empowering women and youth to drive economic growth. The event brought together traditional rulers, community leaders, government representatives, entrepreneurs, and students to discuss transforming local ideas into viable economic opportunities.

Hon. Nkiruka Okorokwo, the founder of the organizing body, emphasized the need for grassroots solutions to overcome barriers that hinder rural enterprises, such as limited access to capital and digital skills.

The dialogue recognized the importance of women and youth as the backbone of local economies, advocating for sustainable business models and access to emerging market opportunities. Priscilla Otti, the First Lady of Abia State, was acknowledged for her leadership and advocacy for vulnerable groups.

The dialogue is part of a series designed to scale across local government areas in Abia State, aiming to create a network that empowers communities and fosters local ownership of economic initiatives.
