American rapper Nicki Minaj stirred controversy by flaunting a photo of a "Trump Gold Card" on January 28, hinting at fast-tracking her US citizenship acquisition. This move came after facing backlash and a deportation petition due to her Trinidad and Tobago origins.

Minaj, a legal permanent resident in the US, revealed her non-US citizenship status in 2024. However, by January 2026, she confirmed her process to become a US citizen was underway, boasting about the Trump Gold Card.

The card requires a $1 million contribution to the US Treasury and a $15,000 non-refundable processing fee. Minaj's post taunted those who signed the deportation petition against her.

Additionally, she shared prayers for hostages in Cameroon, responding to Pope Francis' call for their release, expressing deep concern for the captives, especially the youth.
