NIDCOM Commemorates Nigerians Lost in 9/11 Attacks

On the 25th anniversary of the September 11 attacks, Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, Chairman/CEO of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), honored the memory of Nigerians who perished in the tragedy. In a statement issued by NIDCOM's Director of Media, Public Relations and Protocols, Abdur-Rahman Balogun, in Abuja, she reflected on the enduring impact of the loss, stating that the memories of those who died remain vivid.

Dabiri-Erewa specifically mentioned victims including Godwin O. Ajala, Ignatius Udo Adanga, Olabisi Shadie Layeni-Yee, Sadie Ini Ette, and Ayodeji Awe, whose lives were cut short on September 11, 2001.

She stressed that the loss of loved ones transcends time and urged that their stories be shared with future generations. The NIDCOM boss reaffirmed the Commission's commitment to recognizing the contributions of Nigerians abroad, emphasizing that every Nigerian life matters.

She offered prayers for the victims' peaceful rest and for the strength of their families, highlighting the importance of celebrating the legacies left behind.
