Nigerian Minister Dismisses Trump's Claims of Christian Persecution, Emphasizes Secular Nature

Nigerian Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Festus Keyamo, responded to U.S. President Donald Trump's allegations of Christian persecution in Nigeria, asserting the country's secular status and religious harmony.

Keyamo highlighted Nigeria's history of religious tolerance and cited examples of Muslim-Christian coexistence, urging the U.S. to support Nigeria's counter-terrorism efforts. He emphasized that Nigeria is not a battleground for religious warfare and called for diplomatic engagement over incendiary remarks.

Keyamo also mentioned the religious diversity within top security officials in Nigeria to debunk claims of state-sanctioned anti-Christian attacks.
