Nigeria and Turkey Strengthen Ties, Address Visa Bottlenecks for Business Relations

Nigeria and Turkey are deepening ties to remove visa bottlenecks and improve bilateral relations, particularly in business and consular affairs. The agreement follows a meeting in Abuja between Nigeria's Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, and the Turkish Ambassador to Nigeria, Mehmet Poroi.

The discussions highlighted the historical and cultural ties between the two countries, emphasizing a commitment to promoting people-to-people contacts and legitimate business engagements. The Turkish Ambassador provided updates on improving visa facilitation for Nigerian businessmen traveling to Turkey, proposing the implementation of an electronic visa system to enhance business mobility.
