CAN Urges Tinubu's Government to Prioritize Food Security and Youth Empowerment

The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) marked Nigeria's 65th Independence Anniversary by cautioning the government led by Tinubu about the challenges of hunger, insecurity, and unemployment still faced by millions of Nigerians. CAN emphasized the need for true progress to be reflected in the daily lives of citizens, not just economic statistics.

President Archbishop Daniel Okoh urged the government to prioritize food security, life protection, and opportunities for young people. He also expressed concerns about insecurity caused by terrorism, banditry, and communal violence, calling for stronger collaboration between security agencies and community organizations.

Archbishop Okoh highlighted the importance of investing in education, innovation, and youth empowerment to prevent brain drain and create a conducive environment for citizens, especially the youth, to thrive.
