Nigeria Receives €200m EU Grant for Renewable Energy Development

Nigeria has secured a €200 million renewable energy grant from the EU to bolster its power sector. The grant aims to provide electricity to five million Nigerians through partnerships with the Nigerian power industry stakeholders.

Initiatives include policy development, capacity building, market facilitation, and access to financing for clean energy projects. The EU's support also extends to wind energy and small hydropower projects, with plans for solar-hybrid sites.

Efforts are underway to address skill gaps in the power sector for sustainable growth and modernization.
