Nigeria Launches African Centre of Excellence Alliance to Boost University Reforms

Nigeria is focusing on revamping its university system to regain international recognition, with the Ministry of Education unveiling the African Centre of Excellence Alliance in Abuja. This initiative, supported by the World Bank and other partners, aims to enhance specialized education in various fields such as STEM, agriculture, and health.

The alliance will promote collaboration among 20 African centers of excellence, including 17 Nigerian universities. Dr.

Olatunji Alausa highlighted the achievements of the project, emphasizing the need for sustained support to restore Nigerian institutions to their former glory.
