Experts from Nigeria, Ghana, and Gambia have emphasized the need for harmonizing copyright laws to boost innovation and infrastructure development in Africa's creative economy. During a webinar commemorating Africa Copyright Collective Management (ACCM) Day, experts highlighted the challenges of inadequate infrastructure and political hindrances in maximizing the benefits of intellectual property policies.

They noted that differences in copyright laws across African countries, coupled with issues like low internet access and inadequate electricity supply, pose significant obstacles to economic growth. The push for harmonization aims to strengthen intellectual property rights and benefit citizens across the continent.
