PEBEC's Princess Audu Drives Accountability in Nigerian MDAs

The Federal Government of Nigeria is intensifying efforts to enhance accountability, efficiency, and measurable performance across Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs). Princess Zahrah Mustapha Audu, the Director General of the Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council (PEBEC), made this announcement during the MDAs High-Level Strategic Engagement and press briefing organized by the Federal Ministry of Finance.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has mandated that non-performance will no longer be tolerated within government institutions. Audu reported that 16 MDAs have achieved full implementation of assessed reforms, but noted a decline in responsiveness levels following active monitoring.
She stressed the importance of moving beyond periodic compliance to sustained institutional performance. Ongoing mystery shopping exercises, a live performance tracker, and the upcoming end-of-year Business Facilitation Act (BFA) Compliance Ranking are designed to ensure MDAs remain accountable.
Audu stated that performance monitoring is continuous and compliance is measurable, urging MDAs to account for their results.
