Nigeria Missing from CAF's AFCON 2025 Officials List, Eguavoen to Lead Team

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has unveiled the list of officials for the AFCON 2025 tournament in Morocco, with Nigeria notably absent. The selection comprises 94 officials, including referees and assistants, but no Nigerian representatives.

Nigeria's last referee at the AFCON was Emmanuel Imier in 2006. Meanwhile, coach Augustin Eguavoen will lead Nigeria in the tournament, aiming to secure victory.

Oluwafemi Adeyemi, a Nigerian sport photojournalist, highlighted the country's strong refereeing tradition in West Africa. CAF President Patric Motsepe's announcement amidst civil unrest in Morocco adds complexity to the upcoming competition.
