Nigeria's Economic Reforms Showcase Success at CEO Forum

Taiwo Oyedele, the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, asserted that Nigeria serves as proof that bold economic reforms can succeed in Africa. Speaking at the African CEO Forum in Kigali, Rwanda, he highlighted Nigeria's reform efforts over the past three years, which he believes provide a compelling argument against policy paralysis in the continent.

Oyedele discussed the importance of credible institutions and the need to mobilize investment, particularly in Nigeria's power sector and solid minerals. He also provided insights into President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's bilateral engagements, including a meeting with Guinea's President Mamadi Doumbouya, where they discussed regional cooperation and the importance of maintaining ECOWAS membership amidst pressures.

Oyedele noted that Nigeria has already seen concrete investment commitments emerging from the forum, particularly in mining and power, which are crucial for stimulating economic growth and reducing poverty.
