Nigerian Police Among World's Least Paid, Says Raji

Bolaji Raji, the founder of the New Dawn Women Community Intervention Initiative (NEWOMCII), highlighted that the Nigerian police force is among the least paid in the world. Speaking in Abuja during an official donation event to the FCT Police Command, Raji noted that despite their poor remuneration, police personnel consistently strive to protect lives and property across the country.

He called on the federal government to enhance the welfare of police personnel, emphasizing that they deserve better working conditions. Raji, who is also the Chief Executive Officer of Blackwel Petroleum Limited, appealed to wealthy Nigerians to support police operations.

He described police officers as patriotic and loyal, continuing to serve the country amid economic hardships. Raji acknowledged the challenges faced by police, including inadequate accommodation and difficult working conditions, yet urged police leadership to mobilize support for their welfare.

The event also featured commendations from Dantaway Miller, who praised the initiative and the ongoing efforts of the police in ensuring road safety.
