Nigeria Prize 2026 Opens with Focus on AI, Poetry, and Creative Arts

The Nigeria Prize 2026 competition has commenced, highlighting artificial intelligence, information communication technology, poetry, and documentary filmmaking. The competition, organized by Nigeria LNG Limited (NLNG), aims to recognize excellence in science, innovation, literature, and creative arts.

The theme for the science and innovation category is "Innovations in Information Communication Technology and Artificial Intelligence." The prize value is $100,000 and is open to scientists and innovators worldwide. The literature category will focus on poetry by Nigerian authors, with a prize value of $100,000.

The Chairman of the Advisory Board for the Nigeria Prize for Literature, Professor Akachi Adimora Ezeigbo, emphasized the importance of creative arts in transcending different forms of expression. The competition also includes a creative art category, offering a $20,000 prize for emerging Nigerian filmmakers aged 18-35.

The aim is to promote storytelling and explore individual, community, cultural, and identity narratives.
