Nigeria Targets Stronger Partnership with China in 2026

Nigeria expresses satisfaction with the progress made in its relationship with China in 2025, highlighting the comprehensive strategic partnership established between President Bola Tinubu and President Xi Jinping during Tinubu's state visit to Beijing in September 2024. The Nigeria-China Strategic Partnership Office notes the deepening bilateral cooperation across political, economic, and technical spheres, emphasizing mutual respect and shared interests.

Both nations have expanded cooperation in key areas such as infrastructure development, trade, investment, industrial capacity building, technology transfer, and cultural exchanges. Nigeria reaffirms its foreign policy anchored on respect for sovereignty and territorial integrity, with a focus on achieving mutual beneficial outcomes.

Director-General of Global Liaison at the Nigeria-China Strategic Partnership, Joseph Tegbe, expresses optimism for continued cooperation and advancement of the shared vision between China and Nigeria.
