Nigeria Unveils Plan to Boost Crude Oil Production to 3M Barrels Daily by 2030

Nigeria has revealed an ambitious plan to raise crude oil production to 3 million barrels per day and expand gas output to 12 billion cubic feet daily by 2030. The plan was announced at the just-concluded Nigeria Oil and Gas (NOG) Energy Week 2025 in Abuja, which brought together 6,000 energy professionals, 250 exhibiting companies, and 125 expert speakers.

Key figures like Wemimo Oyelana, Bashir Bayo Ojulari, and Felix Omatsola Ogb emphasized the need to strengthen local capacity and attract investments to drive the country's energy independence. Nigeria aims to secure $17 billion in new energy investments by 2024, with projections of $30 billion by 2027 and $60 billion by 2030.

Major infrastructure projects like crude oil pipelines and gas pipelines are also highlighted as part of the country's energy development strategy.
