Nigeria & World Bank Boost Nutrition Financing Collaboration for Effective Budgeting

Nigeria and the World Bank are enhancing collaboration on nutrition financing across states. The World Bank, in partnership with the Federal Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning, has initiated training for budget officers in various Nigerian states to integrate nutrition into the national budget cycle.

This effort, under the Accelerating Nutrition Results in Nigeria (ANRiN) Project, aims to expand nutrition budget tagging to provide expenditure estimates and identify financing gaps. The initiative seeks to improve transparency, track resource allocation, and mobilize new resources for nutrition.

The workshop signifies a crucial step in embedding nutrition considerations in Nigeria's budgetary process for effective human capital development financing.
