Nigeria's Minister Advocates for Almajiri Education Reform

The Nigerian Minister of Education highlighted the government's enhanced position to tackle the Almajiri and out-of-school children crisis during a webinar aimed at advancing educational reforms nationwide. The initiative, led by Dr.

Lawal Olohungbeb, Chairman of the CoSEN, emphasized the importance of collaboration between federal and state governments to reduce the number of out-of-school children. The Minister noted the need for a harmonized implementation framework and evidence-based plans across all tiers of government.

Dr. Muhammad Sani Idri, Executive Secretary of the National Commission for Almajiri School Children Education, shared insights from his background in Almajiri education.

The webinar featured Aishatu Umar Maigari from Gombe State, who presented data-driven interventions to improve enrollment outcomes. The session aimed to promote coordinated reforms and address Nigeria's educational challenges effectively.
