Nigerian Injured as Iranian Missiles Strike UAE Territory

A Nigerian citizen was among the injured when Iranian missiles targeted the United Arab Emirates (UAE), leading to a total of six fatalities and 120 injuries. The UAE Ministry of Defence reported that its air defense systems successfully intercepted 241 out of 262 ballistic missiles launched by Iran.

However, two missiles fell within UAE territory, causing casualties. The attacks are part of escalating tensions in the Middle East, with Iran reportedly retaliating against the UAE for allegedly allowing U.S. military operations from its territory.

In response to the deteriorating security situation, the Nigerian government is preparing evacuation arrangements for its citizens living in the region, urging them to consider repatriation flights. The ongoing conflict has raised safety concerns for Nigerians in the Gulf, particularly in countries like Qatar, the UAE, and Saudi Arabia, which are popular destinations for employment and transit.
