Nigerian Police Mourn Ex-IGP Solomon Arase: Legacy of Service Honored

The Nigerian Police Force is mourning the passing of former Inspector General of Police (IGP) Solomon Ehigiator Arase. Arase, who also served as the Chairman of the Police Service Commission, passed away at Cedarcrest Hospital in Abuja after a brief illness at the age of 69.

The current Force Public Relations Officer, DCP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, confirmed his death, praising Arase's contributions to police reform and national security. The current IGP, Kayode Egbetokun, visited Arase's family to convey condolences on behalf of the Force, recognizing Arase's professionalism, bravery, and leadership during his tenure.
