Nigerians in Australia Reject President's Unauthorized Statement

The Nigerian Australian Capital Territory Association (NAACT) has publicly disowned President Ogbonnaya Franci following an unauthorized statement concerning Chri Juwon Fayomi. The statement, which was made available to journalists in Abuja on Tuesday by Adaobi Emefiel, was described as disappointing and disheartening.

The NAACT emphasized that the statement was issued without proper consultation or approval, highlighting that no Nigerian community leader in Australia had taken a similar stance. The group criticized Franci for abandoning due process and for making divisive public attacks.

They called for unity among Nigerians in Australia and urged Ambassador Jane Adam Bassei to promote open and honest engagement. The NAACT reaffirmed its support for Fayomi, describing his leadership as credible and transparent, and warned against reliance on individuals without proper mandates.

The group insisted that the concerns of Nigerian students deserve direct and transparent engagement, rejecting the controversial statement and calling for responsible leadership to preserve unity within the Nigerian community in Australia.
