New Airline Umza Air Launches Operations with 60% Discounted Fares in Nigeria

Umza Air has launched its commercial operations in Nigeria, offering airfares that are 60% below the current market rates. The airline, led by Henri, the Managing Director, has introduced permanent discount fares for travel between Abuja and Ilorin.

Umza Air aims to alleviate the financial strain on domestic travelers, especially in the North Central region, which has been heavily impacted by the rising airfares nationwide. The airline has already witnessed a high demand for tickets, with its maiden flight scheduled to depart from Abuja to Ilorin.

Umza Air's network includes destinations like Kano, Yola, Sokoto, Kebbi, and Lagos. The company emphasizes the safety and reliability of its aircraft, the G 400 XR turboprop.

Additionally, Umza Air's entry into the market is expected to provide relief to passengers in Kwara, Kogi, and Ekiti states who have been facing high travel costs. Other Nigerian aviation companies like Izzi Air Limited and Green Africa Airways Limited have also announced job openings, signaling potential growth in the sector.
