Atiku Abubakar Demands Transparency on Tinubu's $700M Deal

Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress, has raised concerns over a $700 million minerals deal between the Nigerian government, led by President Bola Tinubu, and the United States. In an interview, Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment Jumoke Oduwole stated that Nigeria possesses sufficient minerals sought by the US and dismissed allegations of secrecy surrounding the agreement.

However, Atiku, through his spokesperson Phrank Shaibu, has demanded the immediate release of the deal's full details, questioning whether it includes provisions similar to those rejected by Ghana's former President John Mahama. He emphasized that Nigerians should not have to speculate about the terms of the agreement and called for the publication of the complete Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and related documents.

Atiku raised specific concerns regarding the handling of medical information and the authority of NAFDAC over medicines and medical products, urging the government to clarify these issues.
