Nigeria's States and FCT Generate N3.63 Trillion IGR in 2024, Lagos State Leads Contribution

In 2024, Nigeria's 36 states and FCT collectively recorded N3.63 trillion in IGR, marking a 49.7% increase from the previous year. Lagos State emerged as a major contributor to the total revenue, with tax revenue, particularly from Lagos and Enugu States, playing a significant role.

The data also highlighted a trend towards enhanced revenue mobilization at the sub-national level. Lagos State retained its position as an economic powerhouse, generating N1.26 trillion in IGR, followed by Rivers State and the FCT.
