Portfolio investments accounted for the bulk of the inflow at $4.85 billion, representing 80.70% of total capital importation, while foreign direct investment (FDI) contributed $864.57 million, marking the lowest inflow at $296.25 million. The banking industry attracted the largest share of capital inflow, totaling $3.14 billion (52.25% of total imports), followed by the financial sector with $1.86 billion (30.85%) and the manufacturing sector with $261.35 million (4.35%).
Standard Chartered Bank Nigeria received the highest capital inflow at $2.12 billion (35.17%), followed by Stanbic IBTC Bank PLC at $1.79 billion (29.75%) and Citibank Nigeria at $561.40 million (9.33%).
