Nigeria's Hunger Crisis Deepens, Ranks 115th in Global Index

Nigeria's Global Hunger Index ranking has worsened to 115th out of 123 countries, indicating a deepening hunger crisis. The country has been within the serious food crisis range for the past 17 years, with a slight increase in hunger levels from 32.3 points in 2008 to 32.8 points in 2025.

Factors such as heavy rainfall and flooding have severely impacted food production, leading to food insecurity and displacing thousands of people. Concern Worldwide and Welthungerhilfe jointly published the annual report highlighting the critical food situation in Nigeria and West Africa.
