Nigeria’s insecurity and corruption rooted in electoral fraud – Datti Baba-Ahmed

Labour Party (LP) 2023 presidential candidate Datti Baba-Ahmed has attributed Nigeria's deepening insecurity and corruption to electoral fraud. In an interview, he criticized INEC Chairman Mahmood Yakubu for irregularities in the 2023 presidential election, which saw Bola Tinubu of the APC declared the winner.

Datti emphasized the need for a credible leader to prevent further breaches of the constitution. He highlighted the importance of addressing electoral fraud as a root cause of the country's challenges, stating that corruption and insecurity are worsened by this issue.

Datti's running mate, Obi, echoed the sentiment that electoral fraud hampers democracy and leadership recruitment in Nigeria. The call for addressing electoral fraud as a fundamental issue in the nation's development and security was emphasized throughout the interview.
