NDLEA Chief Urges Action on Emerging Drug Trade Threats in Nigeria

NDLEA Chairman, Brig. Mohamed Buba Marwa, called for Nigeria's next National Drug Control Master Plan to address emerging drug trade threats.

Speaking at a workshop in Niger State, Marwa emphasized the need for a comprehensive strategy to combat evolving challenges like synthetic drugs and dark web trafficking. He urged stakeholders to contribute expertise to ensure the new plan safeguards the health and security of Nigerians.

The current drug control plan is set to expire, making the formulation of a robust replacement essential. The workshop, supported by ECOWAS and UNODC, aimed to gather input from key stakeholders to design an innovative and effective drug control strategy.
