Nigeria's VAT Revenue Reaches N2.28 Trillion in Q3 2025

According to the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS), Nigeria's Value Added Tax (VAT) revenue hit N2.28 trillion in the third quarter of 2025, representing a 10.66% increase from N2.06 trillion in the previous quarter. The year-on-year VAT collection for Q3 2025 also saw a rise of 28.10% compared to Q3 2024.

The breakdown of the VAT revenue indicates that local VAT payments contributed N1.12 trillion, foreign VAT payments amounted to N680.23 billion, and import VAT added N479.79 billion. The report highlights that the administrative support service activities recorded the highest growth rate at 89.28%, followed by arts, entertainment, and recreation at 82.49%, and human health and social work activities at 32.40%.

Conversely, real estate activities exhibited the lowest growth rate at 51.33%. The sectors contributing the largest shares to VAT in Q3 2025 were manufacturing at 25.89%, information and communication at 18.77%, and mining and quarrying at 14.85%.
