NIS Graduates 1,626 Officers, Emphasizes Professionalism

The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) graduated 1,626 officers from its Fourth Combined and Upgrading Course, 2026, during a ceremony held in Kano. Comptroller-General of Immigration, Kemi Nandap, represented by Assistant Comptroller-General Samuel Agba, urged the new officers to employ professionalism, technology, and sound judgment to tackle emerging border-security and migration challenges.

This graduation marks one of the largest training exercises in NIS history, reinforcing the agency's commitment to enhancing operational capacity through continuous professional development. Nandap stressed the importance of combining statutory responsibilities with technological competence and maintaining professional standards.

The Commandant of the Immigration Training School, CIS AN Akuneme, noted the unprecedented number of cadets and encouraged them to adapt to the evolving dynamics of border management. The ceremony also featured merit awards for outstanding participants and the commissioning of an ultra-modern market constructed by the course participants, attended by representatives from various security agencies and senior officers of the NIS.
