Nigerian Institute of Sports to Establish Zonal Offices Across Nigeria for Grassroots Talent Development

The Nigerian Institute of Sports is setting up zonal offices nationwide to focus on grassroots sports talent discovery and youth empowerment. Led by Director General Philip Shaibu, the institute's team visited Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun to discuss establishing the South West zonal office in Abeokuta.

This initiative aligns with the institute's core mandate to revive sports in Nigeria and engage communities at the grassroots level. The move aims to promote talent development, sports engagement, and economic empowerment, in line with the government's agenda.

Ogun State is positioned as a strategic hub for sports development and youth empowerment in the region, with full support pledged by the state leadership.
