NMDPRA Advocates Golf for Health and Industry Collaboration

Rabiu Umar, the Chief Executive of the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA), encouraged Nigerians to embrace golf as a platform for healthy living and professional networking. He made this call during the grand final of the 2026 Upstream Invitational Golf Tournament organized by the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC) at Ogunu Golf Resort in Warri, Delta State.

The week-long championship aimed to foster collaboration among stakeholders in Nigeria's petroleum sector. Umar stated that the tournament would strengthen partnerships between NMDPRA and NUPRC, allowing industry leaders to share ideas in a relaxed environment outside formal office settings.

The tournament began on June 22 and featured various competitions, including participation from caddies and professional golfers. The event concluded with a gala night where winners were honored with trophies, attended by dignitaries including NUPRC Chairman Senator Magnus Abe and Toni Attah from Renaissance Africa Energy Company.
