Lobi Stars Chairman Plans Squad Overhaul After Failed Bid

Following Lobi Stars' unsuccessful bid for promotion to the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) for the 2026/27 season, chairman Terver Ikya has outlined a comprehensive plan to rebuild the squad. Ikya announced that the club will promote five players from the youth team, specifically from the Lobi Stars U-19, and will not recruit any new players.

He emphasized that a total of thirty-five players will be involved in the new squad configuration. Furthermore, Ikya stated that contracts of players signed by the previous board, which range from one to two years, will be terminated.

He indicated that the club will start afresh, and he will not attend to players who wish to leave, leaving their fate in their own hands. This strategic move aims to revitalize the team after a disappointing season.
