PDP Warns INEC Against Glitches and Manipulation in 2027 Polls

The People's Democratic Party (PDP) has warned the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) against glitches and manipulation in the 2027 polls. The PDP cited Section 64(4)(5)(6) of the Electoral Act 2022, mandating the direct transmission of election results from polling units using Smart Card Readers (SCR).

The party expressed concerns over past institutional manipulations and glitches in the 2023 presidential election results. The PDP emphasized the need for a free, fair, and transparent electoral process in 2027, accusing the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) of overheating the polity with premature campaigns.

They called on INEC to ensure a seamless electronic transmission of results to safeguard Nigeria's democracy.
