Tinubu Urges Efficient Use of Funds at NCDC Summit

On Monday, President Bola Tinubu addressed the first North Central Stakeholders Development Summit organized by the North Central Development Commission (NCDC) in Abuja, where he warned against the misuse of public funds for projects lacking value to Nigerians. Represented by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume, Tinubu declared that the era of wasteful "white elephant" projects is over.

He stressed that commissions must focus on projects with clear goals and measurable benefits, warning that officials involved in corruption or political interference would face sanctions. Tinubu directed the Federal Government to ensure timely release of funds for the commissions and encouraged them to seek private sector investments and donor support.

He highlighted key areas needing attention, including agriculture, industrialization, and healthcare, and urged stakeholders to develop a practical blueprint for the region's development. The summit aims to create a 20-year economic, infrastructural, and social development plan for the North Central region.
