Aisha Yesufu: ADC Experience Surpasses Political Science Degree

Aisha Yesufu, a prominent human rights activist and co-convener of the Bring Back Our Girls Movement, expressed that her involvement with the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has provided her with invaluable lessons that no political science degree could offer. Yesufu joined the ADC on December 31, 2025, shortly after former Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi defected to the party.

She emphasized that her decision to register as a member of the ADC was one of the best choices she has made. In her recent advisory role, she urged opposition leaders, including Peter Obi and Atiku Abubakar, to directly address the economic hardships faced by Nigerians ahead of the 2027 elections.

Yesufu highlighted that widespread poverty is a pressing concern for citizens, who are primarily focused on immediate survival amidst the political turmoil.
